Ask The One Who Told You To Do It

When we first enter into the world, as a baby we are dependent on the mother or father to feed, provide, and protect us. This also includes, what we eat, wear, where we live, and how we live; as a child we have no say in the matter. And while growing up, someone was always telling us what to do, when to do it, what we could say and not say, when to go to bed and so forth. I remember having to move, no one asked me what I thought about it, they just said, “We’re moving, get your things together”. The same for what we had to eat, we were not asked, “What would you like to eat”? We were not even told what was being prepared, we knew when we got to the table; and you bet not say you don’t want that or think you wasn’t going to eat it, you betta think again. Do you remember, when you wanted to do something and you asked your Mother and she said no. And then you went to your Daddy and asked, and most would say, “What did your Mama say” or “What did “she” tell you to do”?

When we enter in the corporate world, there is one company but many departments and when you are hired, you have a specific area and task planned out for you. While in training, and you have questions, you don’t ask someone in a different department, what to do. You ask the one in your area who trained you as to what you need to do that you may become knowledgeable, grow and become skilled in that part of the company.

One morning, I fixed my g-son breakfast and before he begin to eat, I said, “Don’t forget to bless your food”,  turned and walked into my garage. When I got back, he was sitting there with this innocent look on his face and then said, “I don’t know how to do that”. I looked at him and just fell in love all over again with him, and then showed him how to do it. He didn’t ask his G-Pa, he asked the one who told him to pray before he eats. I was quickly reminded as to why we must enter into the Kingdom as a child, humble, not knowing, and asking Him, how should I do it Father? Because He is the one who has commanded us to do it. My G-son is very intelligent in book smarts, and of course, at the age of 7, I just assumed he knew how to bless his food.

I was enlightened, and then understood that it doesn’t matter how long we have been here on earth or how long we have been in the church of our choices, it doesn’t mean that we know what we need to know. But, I will add, it is now our responsibility to make sure we have what we need. We are responsible for our appetites, what and if we read, getting information and what type of information we receive. I came today to each of you saying, just as I thought of him, in a loving way, so does our Father.  It’s nothing wrong with not knowing, He told us that He would give us understanding if we asked. This entails every part of our life. Whatever it is and wherever we lack light, inquire of the one who commanded us to do it in the first place.

Love you all!
