Because faith comes by “hearing” and hearing by the word of God, why are we talking so much? I know heaven is being bombarded with “HELP” with in and everything. Protect us, heal our land, cover us, save us, heal our bodies, provide for us, and on and on and on.
Just think about an earthly father who has more than one child and when tragedy happens and they run to him with their cares, both talking at the same time, loud, with emotions, trying to be the one who gets his attention. Now think about Abba Father, and all of mankind screaming non-stop, boisterously, about their thoughts, issues, fears, all at the same time. And then after we get through pleading, ranting, presenting our supplications, letting our request be made known, and asking questions, prayer is done and over. What?!
We just busy, we got to be heard and feel as though if we cry and speak many thee’s and thou words, we are being heard. When I tell you EVERRRRY BODY(almost), more than the norm has a PRAYER LINE, and want you to join in and let us, after many ads and request for money to help with continued support for the church building, pray. Tag, it’s your time, and forty minutes later, you’re up, talking about what? If we the ones in trouble, looking for answers, need assistance, why is we talking so much? Hush, be still, listen and know that He is God!
Our faith is going to become and be strengthened by HEARING, the truth about God. When we have these one hour prayer meetings, (I guess that’s what we’re calling it), and we talking, petitioning, requesting, begging, hollering, speaking in an unknown language, and snotting fifty-seven minutes, we have now left the One who has the answers, directives, instruction, and vision with three minutes to speak and for the most part we take that back cause we celebrating for a victory we think we have received.
How, when, if He was not given the opportunity to speak? How are we finished and we did not allow Him, our Father to say a word? We as His children are not all knowing and we are at various levels in our faith and because in this walk, we will have questions. We must ask ourselves, why do I have the floor? Why is what I’m saying and doing more important than what Jesus (who we speak and sing about “IS THE ANSWER”) is wanting to say?
Jesus addressed this when He was here in the earth realm, when He said, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking” (Mathew 6:7, KJV). What the world are we doing, if we don’t have the solution? Can we please, in our prayer meeting with our Creator, Father, Lord and Savior, HEAR what He has to say about what we came there for in the first place? Answers, comfort, peace, and rest?
I am reminded of Martha whom Jesus visited at her home, she was all over the place doing what she believed was necessary. Just busy. She had a problem though because she also had a sister named Mary, who was just sitting at the feet of Jesus, listening, hearing what He had to say. Both were in a meeting with the Master, but one was busy with the cares of the world and wanted Him to make Mary help with all of the distractions. But He responded, “Mary has chosen the good part, hearing the Word and it will not be taken away from her.” Don’t you think it’s time for the children to allow the Father to Speak?
