Who’s Side Are You On?

Sometimes while watching football and a interception is thrown, I’m thinking and saying out loud, “Who are you throwing the ball to? It’s obvious their uniform color is different than yours”? Then there are times when the colors are similar, but there are enough variances where you still ought to know your teammates. Another thing that sticks out with athletes and anyone who wears a uniform is that you know who they represent.

Nurses are associated with their scrubs and ones on different floors sometimes wear different colors to denote what floor or specialty they support. What you do not see on the basketball court is, players on one team with a jersey of their team and the shorts of the other team. That would be very confusing to their teammates and the other team as well.

This is why God said we should be hot or cold. He did not say lukewarm! Pick a side already and go one hundred! We messing up both sides. The ones trying to believe and do better and sure nuff the ones who are on the fence.

I use to not understand the scripture that reads, “If My People, who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land (2 Chronicles 7:14, NIV). I’m like, He’s talking to us, His people. What sin? We not praying, seeking His face, oh, and haughty? Then you turn on the TV and see all the false prophets, pastors and bishops, sleeping with people who are not their own, compromising God’s word because it’s popular or because they need an offering.

Telling ourselves, “this is just the way I am”, “He knows me” and “He understands”. Yes you’re right, He does know that you are not willing to give up your ways for His and make a change. You cannot be in christiandom for 99 years and there is no sign of change, AND you going to church or let me say in the building listening or not, to the words being spoken every Sunday and there not be a change. OR is it that when we go these days, they talking about in and everything except what thus said the Lord and that’s why there is no difference.

I know people cannot see and read our hearts, only God can do that. However, “a good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of” (Luke 6:45, NIV).

So when we’re at church and praise is coming out and then before we can leave the church grounds, we cursing someone out — let me just say, “One of these things, is not like the other”. And I’m confused and DO NOT UNDERSTAND. Why come we can’t just pick a team to be on! If you want to be a pimp, get out the pulpit! We need to stop being silly women, because it is not God’s will for us to be, and or remain ignorant. You may not have known something in the beginning, but if you are going to a church and know the pastor is married, I don’t care what he tells you, you know better.

Get on a side and wear your true colors and serve your master proudly! On that awards day, you’re going to be talking about, “Lord, I cast out devils in Your name, I worshiped you every Sunday”, and His response is going to be, “ You sure did, but in vain. Depart from me, I never knew you!” When people see you coming do they know what team you’re on?
