Have you ever allowed someone to move into your house and it was supposed to be for a short period of time and it ended up feeling like an eternity? That’s not a bad thing in and of itself, if you both are on the same page as far as likes, thinking, decor and so on. But, I’m talking about people whether they be family, friends or others who move in and just begin to change things not only in the area you temporarily allowed them to occupy, but your space and sometimes the whole house. I know you be wanting to scream, “Get out!” “Go sit down!” “Why for?” “What?” and “Who in the world do you think you are?” I’m saying, I have seen people just sneak their things in one at a time and before you know it, they trying to tell you how they want your furniture, what’s wrong with your pictures and they want the bathroom a different color and why you have those type of curtains up and so on and on. Why can’t people just come in and enjoy the beauty of your home, just the way it is?
Well, it’s the same in the Kingdom of Heaven. God has already created heaven the way He desires for it to be. In Matthew, there are many parables about the Kingdom of Heaven and what it is like. He also originally set up the earth in the same manner. We get saved and enter the Kingdom and then think we at Burger King and try to have it our way. Take a seat! The Creator King has not asked us for our two cents in running His Throne.
Instead of us coming into His domain and learning His ways and thoughts and taking on His culture, environment and image, we fight the process and want to bring our habits, and felt needs in with us and want to vote on it despite what He has already spoken concerning said issues.
One of the differences in moving in with mankind is, we can wear out our welcome, especially when you move in and there are too many contrary ways and one (the one visiting), is trying to force their will on the other (the one who has all the rights and owns the place).
Well, hear ye, hear ye! The one who owns the home and property has the authority and power to set all the rules concerning that place of residency. You may have all types of creative ideas of how you would do this and that, but you have no right to change things around the way you want it.
When we enter the Kingdom of God, we’re supposed to learn of Him and His way that we may become like Him, think like Him, speak and do like Him. I especially like the one about the certain king who was settling accounts with his servants and had compassion on one of them who owed much and could not pay. The servant fell down and worshiped the owner and He forgave his debt. The forgiven servant later ran into someone who owed him a small amount of money, jacked him up and demanded him to pay what he owes. When that fellow man fell down to his knees and asked for more time to pay, he had him thrown in jail until he could pay….again, what the world? Looks and sounds like double standards to me.
That is not what the Kingdom of Heaven is modeling. But the Creator is willing to work with us and is patient with us. He’s willing to teach us if we have a mind to learn of Him, it’s when we come with our own agendas that get us in trouble. Knowing good and well we have no intentions of changing in the manner that we should. Why we want to do it our way? And if we’re going to come into the Kingdom and not change, why for? Why do we go to church Sunday after Sunday and listen to the words of our Constitution and know we have not repented (changed our way of thinking)? We want to keep doing the same old things, but live in His Kingdom. Stop it! His ways are not our ways, nor is His thoughts our thoughts. The earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof, we need to sit down and get some act right and do it His way!
